The Little One that Stole our Hearts

Found a 2016 blog post that didn’t actually get uploaded (I blame the mommy brain!). Thought I would still post it for posterity!

This year has been quite a busy one preparing for the arrival of our first child. I decided to take the 2016 wedding season off as we knew we wanted to dedicate as much of our time raising our daughter during her first year,

Our little one has amazed us in so many ways with her big personality, daily feats and overall infant development. We can't believe how much she's grown these past four months. I've tried to take as many photos as I could of her so that my husband and I can look back and remember what she was like as a newborn (as well as being able to show them to her when she's older). For now, I've attached some of our favourite photos of her. Hope you enjoy them!

We are having a blast raising her and I look forward to returning to wedding photography in 2017!

Baby Theo's First Portrait Session

It seems like we've hit the point in our lives where a good number of our friends are welcoming the arrival of their first child....us included! It's always super exciting and we greatly enjoy meeting the new bundles of joy.

So, when we got word a couple of weeks ago that our friends Uyen and Matt had given birth to their precious baby boy Theo, I was delighted to hear that they wanted me to capture his first photos. The shoot was a lot of fun and it's always interesting trying to time the photos just right so that the newborns cooperate with our gentle prods to get them posed. ;) Below are some super cute snaps of the little "air bender" - hope our little one will be as photogenic when it arrives in May!

When Meg and Ray contacted me to cover their daughter Tessa's first birthday party, I was quite excited. Meg had a great vision for her "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" themed celebration and had a lot of amazing do-it-herself, decorating ideas. Meg and Ray threw a very spirited party, which even included a reading of the popular story book. They have a great set of friends and family and everyone was super excited to be celebrating Tessa's milestone. Here are few photos from the day. Enjoy!

There's not too much that can top using fall leaves to brighten up a picture! I've always wanted to do a shoot onsite at the Ottawa Arboretum and I finally got the opportunity! A beautiful family wanted some photos taken to update their photo album and document the growth of their kids. We had a fun time, even though it's hard to keep up with a couple of toddlers. But that's half the fun. Taking candids as they frolic! Here are few pictures taken from the shoot! Enjoy!
