This past Thursday I had the pleasure of covering a high school prom, where the grad committee had requested both a photo booth and photos of the event. Documenting this reception really took me back 10 years! I have to say proms nowadays are so much more glamourous! Everyone was dressed to the nines in beautiful gowns and suits, which complimented the amazing venue. ...very sophisticated. The views really made the prom special with the peace tower and the rest of parliament hill in the background.

I was quite lucky to have my husband as my assistant that night, as he was able to cover the photo booth while I took candid pictures of the party. He did a great job!

Lauren & Nick: Westboro Wedding

I had the pleasure to be a part of a very special ceremony last weekend. Lauren & Nick were wed at the First United Church in Ottawa in front of their friends and family in a very personalized ceremony. Their vows consisted of a covenant they created together and true to their personality, they even "Rick-Rolled" their recessional (Never Gonna Give You Up!! ;)). After the ceremony we headed down to the Ottawa River Parkway to take some fun portraits. Check out the army-print socks and cowboy boots!

Ottawa Event Photographer :: CMA Grad Gala @ Play Food & Wine

I was quite excited for the opportunity to cover the CMA Grad Gala event this year, I couldn't give up the opportunity for good food, a "top 40 under 40" speaker and bonus CPE credits. :) The event and its network definitely made for an interesting night!

Congratulations to our newest CPA, CMAs! You guys deserve all the benefits that came with your hard work!

Ottawa Wedding Photographer :: Jacquie and Andrew's NAC Wedding

When I first met Jacquie and Andrew, they told me of all the personal touches they were adding to their wedding. They were planning to make their own origami flowers in place of traditional fresh bouquets and Suzy Q donuts instead of a tiered wedding cake. They were even going to add Karaoke to liven up the reception! Since that first meeting, I've been eagerly awaiting their wedding day to see their vision come alive. ...and it did! It accentuated their personality completely.

The ceremony was held on the balcony of the fountain room overlooking the Chateau Laurier and Ottawa River and their portraits were shot in and around the NAC. I stayed later that evening to cover the speeches, and it was a very touching experience. It was clear that this couple has a very close-knit and supportive family. Below are a few preview shots of the day.
